You always hear the question, "Where do you see yourself in five/ten/fifteen years?"
My answer is simple, doing theatre work in Chicago.
This morning, posted this picture on of my lock screen on my phone on Instagram,
and a couple people asked me why, as a Pittsburgh-area native, was my background a picture of a city 8 hours away. My answer is simply because I love the city.
I visited Chicago for the first time when I was a sophomore in high school on a choir trip. We were there for a weekend in April, and I was absolutely in love. Now, as a theatre-goer, you would expect me to be in love with New York. I mean of course I am, NYC is beautiful. But there's something about Chicago that's different. All of the beautiful rivers, the above ground trains, and the unique architecture.
One of the places that we visited on our trip was the John Hancock Observatory. It's the tallest building in Chicago, and the top floor is a huge sky deck where you can over look the ENTIRE city and over Lake Michigan- and it was absolutely mesmorizing.
I haven't been back since then, but the first chance that I have the time and the money, I'm taking a trip back. And I can guarantee that I'll fall in love with the Windy City all over again.
