The Windy City

You always hear the question, "Where do you see yourself in five/ten/fifteen years?"

My answer is simple, doing theatre work in Chicago.

This morning, posted this picture on of my lock screen on my phone on Instagram,

and a couple people asked me why, as a Pittsburgh-area native, was my background a picture of a city 8 hours away. My answer is simply because I love the city.

I visited Chicago for the first time when I was a sophomore in high school on a choir trip. We were there for a weekend in April, and I was absolutely in love. Now, as a theatre-goer, you would expect me to be in love with New York. I mean of course I am, NYC is beautiful. But there's something about Chicago that's different. All of the beautiful rivers, the above ground trains, and the unique architecture.
One of the places that we visited on our trip was the John Hancock Observatory. It's the tallest building in Chicago, and the top floor is a huge sky deck where you can over look the ENTIRE city and over Lake Michigan- and it was absolutely mesmorizing.

I haven't been back since then, but the first chance that I have the time and the money, I'm taking a trip back. And I can guarantee that I'll fall in love with the Windy City all over again.

Satisfaction.

Today was my second day at my new job, Bath and Body Works (first day on the floor)- and I absolutely loved it! I was only there for three hours, but I actually had a great time, which got me thinking.

I'm finally at a place in my life where everything is going well and I'm happy. I'm finally getting involved with my department at school and I have a job that I LOVE. Things couldn't be better. But I don't take all that for granted because there are so many people who's lives aren't running so smoothly. But I do appreciate everything that's going on in my life, and all of the great opportunities that I've been given recently.

Now, I'm the type of person that loves to remember and document everything. I'm always taking pictures and making little mental notes of things that made me smile during the day. But now I found an app that you can record everything that makes you happy during the day. It's called Happier, and I absolutely LOVE it.

It even drops confetti every time you share!

It's totally adorable, and everyones happiness posts goes onto a community board, and everyone can like it (or in the app's terms, the likes are called "smile")

Totally free, and totally adorable! I recommend everyone download this app.

Happy Sunday!

New Beginnings

Hey, hi, hello! Welcome to my blog!

Let's be honest for a second, I'm obsessed with reading blogs. I have a whole folder in my bookmarks menu dedicated to all of the blogs that I read on a daily basis. Sitting down with a cup of coffee, a burning candle, and a comfy chair reading blogs is the perfect relaxing day for me (besides the Pinterest addiction that comes after blogs!) So I thought, "Why not start my own blog?"

This blog is just a way for me to talk about my day (or days) and share what I love. I document EVERYTHING- I'm constantly taking pictures and making mental notes during anything I do. Especially when I travel and do shows (I'm a theatre major and in a collegiate chamber choir, shows and performances are as normal as breathing)

Thanks for reading!
