Part of the reason why I got back into blogging is because I wanted to share more about the products I use and love, which is why I used to do my Friday 5.

Now that I'm more product conscious and can actually afford big-girl products these will be a little more relevant to my age group.

Starting this week, I plan on posting more Friday 5's so I can share my favorite products and give my honest opinion.

See you friday!

It's Okay to Take Risks

Happy Monday!
As I get further and further into adult hood, and many of my friends and I are making big decisions in our lives and applying for our adult jobs, there are a lot of big decisions that tend to weigh us down. Decisions like "where do you want to locate yourself" or "live on your own or still rely on a roommate?" "How many cats is too many cats?" (The answer to this one is "the limit does not exist.)
Many of us are forced to believe that once we find our first "adult" job, that we're forced to stick with that one job forever.
FALSE.
DO NOT GET STUCK.
That's where the video I found comes in.
You know BuzzFeed? That super-addicting website that people (including me) spend hours on end browsing because EVERYTHING is on it? A video came out from two of their former writers/producers, Gaby and Allison, who decided to leave BF and focus on their own content and channel. Although they obviously are explaining things from their own personal perspectives, they give really great advice on why it's okay to decide that if you're not happy with a job, and that it's okay to leave said job if you are indeed not happy with it. They even compare it to a toxic relationship- if you're not happy, it's not fair to stay just to make the other person (or company) happy.
It's okay to leave.

As young adults entering the big-kid work force, I think this is advice that we all need to hear at some point or another.

Hello, welcome back!

Hello AGAIN, my lovelies.
I know, I know. Every time i get back on this thing, I promise that Ill stick to it, and then you don't hear for me for months on end. Well let me update you on some things:

1. As of right now, I'm temporarily not in school, getting a (slightly) big girl job, and trying to move closer to the city when my lease ends in June.
2. I'm going to start embracing my photography skills and start professionally doing production photos, headshots, and event photography. That being said, I'm trying to develop a new website for that.
3. That's pretty much it actually.

But, now that school is (for now) out of the equation, I have a lot more time to blog, and I have a lot of new makeup products that need reviewing because I can finally afford nice makeup. I'll probably also start doing book reviews because I'm trying to do the PopSugar 2017 Reading Challenge.

Until tomorrow :)

Tech week.

The week that every person in theatre dreads. Especially when it's the first technical rehearsal of a show process.

This was my life yesterday.

When tech(nical) rehearsal means is that the actors and directors have been in rehearsal for a few weeks, and all the designers have been doing their own thing and showing up to rehearsals here and there. As a lighting designer, my job was to come up with my concept, and then bring it to the director and go to rehearsals to determine where actors will be so I can position the lighting instruments appropriately.

The current show in process is "Much Ado About Nothing" and it's set in Barcelona. The feel of the set is terra cotta and textured archways. So as the assistant designer for the show, my advisor and I decided we wanted to use fun colors that would accent the set and the actors costumes.

Keep in mind that the set isn't finished and the costumes aren't on the actors, but my job isn't finished either. The great part about tech week is being able to see your work on stage, and then being able to tweak it and make it better.

Happy Friday!

Long time, No see

Hello, everyone!

I know that it's been a while since I've posted anything, but I've found a few new reasons for becoming active on this blog.

1. I want to change the direction of the blog (while still keeping the same posts that I did). I want to drive things closer to my url, sooooo coffee and theatre. I do still want to continue friday 5s though just because I'm always finding new things to obsess over.

2. In one of my comm classes, we're using blogger to do a blog project. Why create a new blog when I have a perfectly good one right here.

keep an eye out for new posts soon!

I've been missing blogging and now is the perfect opportunity to start up again now that it's the start of a new semester and getting close to the holiday season. I'll start posting more regularly to play a little catch up and friday favorites will start again next week!

Fridays are Back!

Happy Day-after-Christmas!
As a christmas present to you all, I decided to post a Friday Favorites today! Nothing like waiting months on months...
Leeeet's just get to it.

I'm obsessed with these pens, and most if you know I'm very specific about my pens. These aren't even technically pens, they're a felt-tip marker pen. I just love the way they write and how smooth and bold and colorful they are. They make it easier to keep my color-coded life together!

This foundation is fantastic! And for the price, you can't complain. For just about $5, you get this tube of foundation that gives excellent coverage and a matte finish that stays all day.

This little nugget is perfect for the broke college student who doesn't want to pay for cable. This is the Chromecast Streaming stick by Google. It streams sites like youtube, netflix, hulu, and others to your TV wirelessly from any device. My roommate and I cast our laptops and phones all the time!

This isn't anything special, but I upgraded my phone the week of thanksgiving to the gold iPhone 6, and I'm obsessed with it. Just thought I'd share.

I'm OBSESSED with this case. When I knew I was upgrading my phone, I started looking around for potential cases. When I bought my phone, they had the clear tough-case from case-mate in the store so I got it as a temporary case so my phone didn't get damaged. But I saw this case on the website and I fell in love. Well the other day, case-mate had an after-Christmas sale of 30% off with free ground shipping, so obviously I hopped on the chance. With tax it came to $26.50, so I really can't complain.
