November Recap

I think it's safe to say that November has been the busiest month out of the year when it comes to school. Between theatre work, actual work, choir, and my actual classes it's been one heck of a month. Thank goodness for Thanksgiving break! Family, friends, and peace and quiet.

The mayhem started at the beginning of the month, but really hit full on in the middle of the month. The University Concert Choir (one of the three vocal ensembles we have at SRU, and 1 of the two I'm in) sang with the Erie Chamber Orchestra for a performance of Haydn's Lord Nelson Mass which was a huge success. Then that Sunday we had our semesterly Mixed Choir concert at our music hall on campus.

Last week we went on our yearly Chamber Singers tour, where we travel to different high schools in the state to sing for them. This year we traveled to North Hills, Penn Hills (both in the greater Pitt area) on Wednesday,  and Central Cambria in Ebensburg, PA on Thursday. On Friday we had an entire day (and a little bit of Thursday night) in Washington D.C. all to our selves to sight see or do whatever our little hearts pleased. We all had a blast, and it was a good mini-vacay from classes and touring. While walking the streets of D.C. right next to the White House, we ran into former SRU President Robert Smith (What a place too run into someone!)

And then from there it was just one more concert and an audition. November was crazy in itself, but I know for a fact that the beginning of December will be just as crazy with finals, performances and anything else that keeps the average college student busy (like napping).

Happy Thanksgiving! (or Happy Weekend to any out-of-towners!)
