So a few weeks ago, my trusty iPhone 4s that has kept my life in order for the past two years randomly stopped working. I woke up around 8:30 am, checked my phone, went back to sleep, and when I woke up an hour later, it had turned itself off and didn't turn back on no matter how many times I tried to reset it. So I waited it out for a day (thank God for my iPad so I could still get ahold of people) but still no luck. So I called Verizon to see what I could do, and she told me to do everything that I had already tried. But here was the kicker-
I only had 11 days until my upgrade.
So she told me that I could upgrade early over the phone and add it to my bill, or activate an old phone and wait it out. So since it wasn't my bill to add too (I share the account with my mom), I activated a phone that made me feel like I was in season one of Gossip Girl (which wouldn't be a bad thing, except for the fact that I don't live in Manhattan). The only problem was I wasn't receiving texts from any of my friends/coworkers that have iPhones and even if I turned texting off on my iPad, they wouldn't come to me. So Saturday morning I called Verizon and did the early upgrade (with my parents approval) and ordered my new Space Grey iPhone 5s which I've been drooling over since it came out.
Then on Thurdsday, this beauty finally came to my front door (I missed the first delivery Wednesday and they didn't expedite shipping). I had a total Geek out moment and practically had a nerd-gasm when I opened the box and peeled off the protective plastic. I even got a Belkin View case (rubber edges and a clear plastic back to show off the back of the phone) in purple (duh, my power color). I'm literally obsessed.
Now ends the totally unnecessary story of my beautiful new child.
